• Rusty crown, nape and upper back
• White eye ring and streaked cheeks
• White underparts with black spots throughout
• Pink legs

Habitat

Wood Thrushes usually occur in larger forests but may occur in 1-ha fragments and semi-wooded residential areas. They usually uses trees greater than 16m tall in areas of moderate canopy cover and shrub density with a fairly open forest floor, moist soil, and leaf litter. 

Status

Wood Thrushes are not common in the Atlanta area.  However, they do nest in Fernbank Forest.  Wood Thrush populations are declining in most of their range due to habitat loss and brood parasitism by Brown-headed Cowbirds.
